Built in 1698 the building has gone through several alterations from a Presbyterian Chaple to an abattoir, feed merchant and a Masonic Hall.  The Minerva Lodge took possession of the building in the early 1800’s and made it their masonic home.  In the 1950’s  an extension was added for new kitchens.  The building has been likened to the Tardis, minus Dr Who.  It appears much smaller from the outside than is does from inside.  Upstairs there are two lodge rooms, a committee room, whilst downstairs there is a large lounge bar, functions room and kitchens.
